Russia's foreign minister recalled that the latest package of sanctions was imposed after the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics and Kiev concluded agreements in Minsk

MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says he is certain that Russia will overcome the negative effects of EU sanctions.

“The sanctions have not benefited anyone yet,” Lavrov told a news conference following a meeting with his Belgian counterpart Didier Reynders on Tuesday. “We will overcome the problems that have emerged as a result of unfriendly actions by the EU and other countries.”

“Too bad that educated Europeans think sanctions will be able to change Russia’s policy towards Ukraine,” he added.

Lavrov recalled that the latest package of sanctions was imposed after the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics and Kiev concluded agreements in Minsk.

“If you don’t like the results of the Minsk meeting, then I do not know what else we can do,” Lavrov said.
