MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Several people were detained in Moscow on Friday night for holding an unauthorized street action in front of the building occupied by the Central Executive Committee of the United Russia party on the downtown Banny Lane.

A source at the city’s Interior Department said a general conference of teachers and medics with reporters had initially been scheduled for 16:00 hours but the news media people and bloggers who came there found themselves at a meeting rather than at a news conference.

“A group of activists was standing in front of the building and waving posters that demanded resignation of Moscow Deputy Mayor Leonid Pechatnikov, who is in charge of social development issues,” he said.

Moscow medics are demanding the closures and reorganizations of hospitals and outpatient clinics, as well as the resignation of city government officials who took part in the reshuffling of the city’s healthcare system.

The reorganization envisions redundancies of certified physicians and paramedics.
