MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian companies Technopromexport, 100% owned by Rostec, and Stroytransgaz, controlled by businessman Gennady Timchenko, remain the only bidders at the tender to build a power bridge to Crimea, according to a protocol of tender commission seen by PRIME on Friday.

GlobalElektroServis, part of Russian businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov’s Summa Group, and Gidroelektromontazh have dropped out from the tender. Bids filed by these companies did not comply with requirements of tender documentation, according to the protocol.

In October, the Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy Systems (FGC UES) announced the tender to build a 220-kilovolt underwater cable through the Kerch Strait to Crimea with the maximum value of the contract of 13.838 billion rubles (over $290 million).

GlobalElektroServis and Gidroelektromontazh offered to build the cable for 13.25 billion rubles and 13.836 billion rubles, respectively. Technopromexport filed two bids worth 13.816 billion rubles and 13.836 billion rubles, and Stroytransgaz filed two bids worth 13.826 billion rubles and 13.838 billion rubles.

Construction of the cable should be completed in October 2016 and should solve Crimea’s dependence on power supplies from Ukraine.
