MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Communist Party members of the Russian parliament propose a formal procedure with an oath taking ceremony to present a Russian passport.
Deputy head of the Duma’s committee for constitutional legislation Vadim Solovyov proposes to add a clause on an oath to the federal law on a Russian citizen’s passport and announce a contest to write oath words.
“Passports must be presented in a ceremony. It is right when young people when receiving passports begin to feel that they are citizens of a large and great country,” Solovyov said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.
Earlier, a passport presenting ceremony with allegiance oath taking for teenagers was proposed by the Ulyanovsk Region’s Governor Sergey Morozov.
