ISLAMABAD, November 20. /TASS/. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday received Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu in the government residence and expressed satisfaction with the resumption of military cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad.
“I’m glad that we have resumed our cooperation and I hope it will be dynamic and diversified,” the Pakistani prime minister said.
He said he extended an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the country. “I hope the president will respond to it,” Sharif added.
Russia and Pakistan signed on Thursday a bilateral military cooperation agreement that provides legal framework for further steps, Shoigu said. According to him, the two countries have many issues to discuss and many questions to solve.
“I look forward to preparing our joint projects in the military cooperation sphere,” the Russian defence minister said. He said that the commanders-in-chief of the Russian Air Force, Navy and Ground Forces have visited Pakistan this year.
