Enterprises of the Tactical Missiles Corporation manufacture 80% of components of the R-27 air-to-air missiles used on Chinese fighters based on Russia-made Sukhoi jets
ZHUHAI, November 11. /TASS/. Russia fully ensures supplies of air launched weapons for Chinese fighters based on Russia-made Sukhoi jets without Ukraine, director-general of Tactical Missiles Corporation Boris Obnosov told TASS on Tuesday.
“The list of air launched weapons used at Chinese Sukhoi fighters is supplied by the Tactical Missiles Corporation without Ukraine,” he said.
“Earlier, Ukraine supplied the R-27 air-to-air missiles. Enterprises of the Tactical Missiles Corporation manufactured 80% of components. Now we are fully meeting the needs of China,” Obnosov said.
Earlier, he said the Tactical Missiles Corporation was ready to cooperate with Ukraine’s Artem Corporation that produced air launched weapons.
The majority of components is manufactured in Russia. “For us supplies to Ukraine can be an additional source of revenue. That is why if the Ukrainian side makes a decision to continue exports to third countries with our components, probably, we will supply our components to them,” Obnosov said.
He was speaking at an international air show in the Chinese city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. More than 700 companies, 45% of which are foreign are participating in the air show. More than 120 jets and helicopters are put on display at static exposition. Russia presents around 300 exhibits of military products, including 21 life-size models.
