BEIJING, November 8. /TASS/. The Ukrainian government and the separatist people’s militia forces in the east of the country should themselves complete the disarmament process, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in Beijing on Saturday ahead of a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
“The ceasefire agreement was signed between the militias and Ukrainian government. So they should complete the process [of disarmament],” Lavrov said.
Answering the question whether Russian troops are present in Ukraine, the foreign minister said that even U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said the department had no evidence of Russian troops’ presence in Ukraine.
