Putin signs law to create research center tasked with developing new aircraft models

MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a law on creating a national research center, the Zhukovsky Institute, which will deal with developing new aircraft models.

The law has been published on the legal information portal.

The research center will also deal with training personnel. It involves five leading research organizations — the Zhukovsky Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, the Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motors, the State Research Institute of Aircraft Systems, the Chaplygin Siberian Aeronautical Research Institute and the State Scientific Test Range Aviation Systems.

The center’s activity will be controlled by a supervisory board. It will involve 15 people: representatives of the Russian president, the State Duma (lower house) and the Federation Council (upper house), scientists and defense workers.
