No Russia-US talks on INF Treaty planned soon - deputy foreign minister

MOSCOW, October 20. /TASS/. Russia’s expert-level consultations with the United States on the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) are not planned to be held any time soon, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS on Monday.

Russian-American interdepartmental consultations on the INF Treaty were held in Moscow on September 11. The Russian delegation at them was headed by Director of the Arms Control Department of the Foreign Ministry Mikhail Ulyanov and the American delegation - by Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Rose E. Gottemoeller.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said after the consultations that the sides confirmed the importance of the INF Treaty preservation and agreed to continue in that or other format the dialogue with the aim of removing the persisting differences.
