MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. Russia will not get involved in any antiterrorist coalitions set up in bypass of the UN Security Council and in violation of international law, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday. The statement comes as a reaction on media reports that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry reached agreement on exchange of intelligence data in the process of struggle with terrorism. Lavrov and Kerry metfor talks in Paris on Tuesday.

The ministry also refuted the reports on alleged involvement in consulting the Iraqi security forces.

"US Secretary of State did raise these issues at the talks but Sergey Lavrov said in his part Russia has been fighting terrorism persistently and for quite some time already and it is rendering assistance to other countries facing the threats of terrorism,” the ministry said. Russia sends considerable amounts of aid to Syria, Iraq and other regional countries for the purpose of building up their combat efficiency, the statement ran.

“Russia will continue these efforts but it won’t get involved in whatever “coalitions” set up in bypass of the UN Security Council and in violation of international law,” the ministry said.

Lavrov called John Kerry's attention to the fact that a group for anti-terror had functioned in the framework of the Russian-US Presidential Committee and it had been in charge of mutually beneficial exchanges of information. Operations of the committee were suspended unilaterally by the US Administration.
