MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. If there is a signal from NATO that it needs Russia as a partner, “we shall consider this signal,” Russia’s Permanent Representative at NATO Alexander Grushko said on Tuesday.

“Russia has never quitted from the regime of cooperation with NATO, we are ready to continue political dialogue,” he stressed.

Following NATO’s decision of April1, 2014 to suspend cooperation with Russia, Russia withdrew from all cooperation projects.

“I would like to remind that the Lisbon document of 2010 provides for cooperation in all areas of common interests, such as anti-terrorism and anti-piracy efforts, the situation in Afghanistan. Objectively speaking, in all these spheres pooled international efforts, I am speaking not only about Russia and NATO, but real collective work - is a recognized way to address these problems.”

He said he is confident that that there are people in NATO who understand this. “If NATO turns down the cold-war pattern of relations with Russia, there are chances to resume not only the political dialogue but also strategic cooperation free from any ideological stereotypes,” he said.
