Supplies of modern weaponry to Russia's Armed Forces grow — defense minister

Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade jointly with the Defense Ministry and other federal authorities continue work to eliminate dependence of the Russian defense industry on imported materials

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Supplies of modern weaponry to the Russian Armed Forces in the third quarter grew by 30% year-on-year, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Friday.

The new weaponry includes “multi-role fighters, attack, transport and combat helicopters, Novorossiysk submarine, a corvette, radars, communications means, automotive and armoured vehicles,” he said.

“Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade jointly with the Defense Ministry and other federal authorities continue work to eliminate dependence of the Russian defense industry on imported materials,” the minister said.

“With these measures we shall be able to replace in time Ukrainian parts and military products from NATO and the EU countries. Thus, we shall be able to continue supplying modern weaponry to the Armed Forces."
