MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s forthcoming visit to Serbia is an extremely important event for bilateral relations, Serbian Ambassador in Moscow Slavenko Terzic told a news conference on Friday.
“Our relations are developing better and better, a high level of mutual understanding was established between our countries,” the diplomat said, adding that “And I find Vladimir Putin’s visit [to Serbia] an extremely important event in Russian-Serbian relations. Putin is a very respected person and is very popular in Serbia.”
A military parade on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Belgrade's liberation from Nazi invaders will be staged during Putin's forthcoming visit to Serbia’s capital in mid-October, Terzic said. “I do not have any doubts that all Serbs will welcome Vladimir Putin in a fraternal and friendly way,” the ambassador said.
The Russian leader is expected to hold talks with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Alexandar Vucic to debate key issues of bilateral cooperation, primarily in trade and economic sphere, the Russian presidential press service said earlier.
The program of the visit also envisages a joint dinner of Russian and Serbian delegations.
