Moscow hopes that Western capitals will not keep silent about blatant facts of common graves near Donetsk

MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Moscow will seek truth and punishment for those guilty in killings of people, whose bodies were found in common graves near the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.

Moscow hopes that Western capitals will not keep silent about blatant facts of common graves near Donetsk, Lavrov added. “We hope that Western countries will not silence these facts, as they (these facts)are flagrant,” Lavrov said. Russia hopes that Western media will be unbiased in covering the current events in Ukraine.

“The investigation just begins, we have drawn attention of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe and the UN to this,” he said, adding, “This is a horrible tragedy, this is obviously a war crime, as already more than 400 bodies were found in graves near the city of Donetsk.”

“We hope that Western capitals will not silence these facts, they are flagrant,” Lavrov said, adding, “We hope that Western media will cover unbiasedly all this story. Still, they try to silence it.” “I have learnt recently that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s official said Ukrainian authorities will ensure a full-fledged, open and unbiased probe as long as control over these districts is restored,” the Russian top diplomat said, adding, “This sounds quite blasphemously, because these crimes were apparently committed when Ukrainian law enforcement agencies were controlling these areas.”

Moscow hopes “for a clear-cut, unbiased and responsible position of international organisations,” the minister noted. “The OSCE is already working there. We will seek to find the truth and punish those guilty,” Sergey Lavrov said.
