MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 65th anniversary of the People's Republic of China founding, the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday.

In his congratulatory message, President Putin stressed that “the Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedentedly high level of all-encompassing partnership and strategic cooperation.”

“This holiday is marked by new success in fulfilling the ‘Chinese dream’: economic and scientific and technical achievements, the growth in prosperity of the Chinese population and strengthening of the country’s positions on the international arena,” Putin said in his congratulatory message.

Beijing celebrates the National Day of the People's Republic of China (PRC) every year on October 1. The People's Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949 with a ceremony at central Tiananmen Square. October 1 was declared the National Day following a resolution passed by the Central People's Government in December, 1949.

Putin marked that over the past years Russia and China have widened constructive political dialogue and stepped up fruitful cooperation in trade, financial, industrial, energy and humanitarian spheres.

“[Russia and China] have streamlined an effective coordination of efforts in resolving topical issues of the regional and global agenda,” the message to the Chinese leader reads.

“I highly appreciate the confidence and mutual understanding that we enjoy now. I am sure that by joint efforts we will ensure further strengthening of a whole range of mutually beneficial relations between Russia and China,” the Russian leader said in the message.

“This fully meets the interests of our friendly nations and encourages strengthening stability and security in the world,” Putin stressed.

Russia has been moving to bolster ties with China amid the current crisis in relations with the West over the Ukrainian conflict. In late May, Moscow and Beijing signed a $400 billion gas deal for Gazprom to supply natural gas to China through a new pipeline over 30 years, a milestone in relations between the two countries.
