A meeting between Vladimir Putin and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang is possible as well

MOSCOW, September 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang in October, Russian Vice-Premier Arkady Dvorkovich said on Tuesday.

He did not rule out that Li Keqiang would be also received by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“On the eve of the forum [Open Innovations] the Russian and Chinese premiers will have a regular meeting on October 13,” Dvorkovich said, adding “the Chinese premier is planning to meet with the Russian president.”

Dvorkovich described the Russian-Chinese dialogue as intensive. Russian First Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov and the deputies premier, Olga Golodets and Dmitry Rogozin, met with their Chinese counterparts, he said.

“Several high-level meetings are also planning to be held: recently the Russian president has met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) summit. They are also planning to have contacts within the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit in Beijing and the G20 summit in Australia [in November],” Dvorkovich said.

He thanked China for support to Russia on the international arena. “We know that pressure is being put on our partners from the countries that imposed sanctions. But we see that our partners do not yield to this pressure,” Dvorkovich said.
