MOSCOW, September 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia will continue providing humanitarian aid to the population in eastern Ukraine as long as it seriously needs it, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told ITAR-TASS on Monday.

“We hope for understanding of Kiev and international organizations that we are inviting to take part in resolving this issue jointly,” he said.

At the same time, Karasin regretted that Moscow could not agree with Kiev.

Russia puts above all the necessity to ease the people’s sufferings, but not political considerations, Karasin said.

Fourth batch of humanitarian aid

Russia's Emergencies Ministry is preparing to deliver its fourth consignment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine's eastern regions.

Preparations follow the last load of relief supplies brought to Donetsk on September 20, which delivered 600 generators and other essential items in a 2,000-ton aid package.

Two first convoys brought 4,000 tonnes of cargo to support the citizens of Luhansk, another regional city caught up in past weeks of conflict betwen local militia forces and Ukrainian government troops.
