MOSCOW, September 26. /ITAR-TASS/. A political statement by the heads of five Caspian Sea littoral states on the Caspian Sea status will be adopted at the 4th Caspian Summit on September 29 in Russia’s southern city of Astrakhan, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said on Friday.

“The statement of the presidents, which will be adopted, stipulates principles of interaction between the Caspian Sea littoral states,” Ushakov said. “It is important that the draft statement of the presidents prepared for the summit contains a provision stipulating the inadmissibility of the military presence in the Caspian Sea of states, which are not from the region.”

According to him, the political statement of presidents of five littoral states of the Caspian Sea, which are Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, is expected to be finalized by the foreign ministers of the participating countries in Astrakhan on September 28.

Ushakov said three intergovernmental agreements are to be signed in the presence of the Heads of State of Caspian countries as a result of the 4th Caspian Summit which will be held in Astrakhan on September 29.

"The following documents will be signed in the presence of the Presidents: an agreement on cooperation in preventing and eliminating the aftermath of emergencies in the Caspian Sea area; an agreement on the conservation and rational uses of water biological resources of the Caspian Sea is a second accord to be signed," he said.

Vladimir Putin to hold bilateral meetings with the presidents of Caspian littoral states

Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to hold separate bilateral meetings with the presidents of Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the Caspian forum in Astrakhan.

At the meeting with Iran’s leader Hassan Rouhani, Putin is due to discuss strengthening bilateral trade and economic, as well as nuclear civilian cooperation, Iran’s nuclear program and the situation in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

During the talks with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, the sides could reach an agreement on the date of the leader’s visit to Russia

The negotiations with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev will focus on a range of bilateral and international issues, the presidential aide said.
