MOSCOW, September 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Leader of Russia’s parliamentary party A Just Russia Sergei Mironov proposed to hold an extraordinary behind-closed-doors meeting of lower house State Duma with governmental officials to debate the current situation in Ukraine and measures to confront the policy of Western sanctions.

“I will propose to convene an extraordinary meeting of the State Duma and invite the defense minister, foreign minister, interior minister, emergencies minister, Central Bank’s governor, Federal Security Service’s director and ministers to discuss it [the current situation in Ukraine] calmly and in detail,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

Mironov noted that the situation in south-eastern Ukraine should be discussed with the focus on the problem of refugees from Ukraine. “I will insist on a behind-closed-doors Duma meeting on the scope of problems in Ukraine, Novorossia [the federative state of self-proclaimed republics in south-eastern Ukraine] and the war of sanctions,” the lawmaker said.

Meanwhile, he remarked that if his offer is backed State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin should set a date of this lower house meeting.
