Russia's government to allocate $6.7 million to improve wellbeing of one million Tajiks

MOSCOW, September 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's government will remit $6.7 million in the 2014-2016 period to the budget of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the project aimed at improving the wellbeing of one million rural people who live in nine districts of the Republic of Tajikistan. A respective decision is published on Monday in the special portal of legal information.

According to the document, $2.5 million will be remitted to the UNDP for these purposes in 2014, and $2.1 million a year will be provided in 2015 and 2016.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been assigned to inform the UN and the government of Tajikistan of the decision taken and a procedure for transfer and use of the said resources with the Russian Ministries of Finance and Economic Development.

The Finance Ministry, for its part, is obliged to ensure this year the financing of the expenses resultant of budget appropriations earmarked under the subsection "International Relations and International Cooperation" of the "State Expenditure" chapter.
