Chechen leader Kadyrov debuts in short feature film

GROZNY, September 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has made his film debut appearing in the lead role in a short feature called “The Magic Comb”, according to his message posted on one of the social networks on Saturday.
Kadyrov said it was “a great honour and responsibility” to be on the set with legendary actors who had played in dozens of Soviet and Russian films.
“The film got a warm reception and has been talked about quite a lot. There are scores of positive comments. There may be some criticism too, of course. But I say thank you to everyone. It just shows that it stirred some interest,” he said.
The hero learns of a helmet that can take a person into the past. He finds it and ends up in ancient times.
“The film shows the beautiful life our ancestors lead, how respectfully they treated each other, how nicely they received guests, how they worked and raised real warriors and courageous young men,” Kadyrov said.
The film was shot quite fast with one camera, without retakes and practically at no cost, he said, adding that “everyone worked in high gear, often improvising along the way”.
