Combat readiness snap check in Russia's Eastern Military District
A snap check in the Eastern Military District was ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin and will last till September 18
More than 100,000 servicemen are taking part in combat readiness snap check these days in Russia's Eastern Military District. The snap check was ordered by President Vladimir Putin, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Russia's Armed Forces. The check is to last a week, September 11-18.
This is not the first checkup of the operational readiness of troops of a military district since the beginning of 2014. In February Putin ordered checking up the operational readiness of the Western and Central Military Districts. Another snap check was carried out in the Central Military District in June. Besides, a checkup of the operational readiness of a number of units of the combined command of troops and forces in the country's north-east was carried out in August, and large-scale exercises of the forces dealing with the material and technical support of the army were held early this month.
