“Everything is fragile” in the southeast of Ukraine, there is growing evidence that Kiev is consolidating military grouping in different parts of the country, spokesman says

MOSCOW, September 11 /ITAR-TASS/. Moscow is pinning high hope on the Contact Group’s role in settling the Ukraine crisis, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich told a briefing on Thursday.

“It is important for the sides to coordinate documents concerning the provisions of the Minsk agreements, which have laid down the framework for further specifying decisions of the conflicting parties on each concrete article,” Lukashevich said.

"We hope that in this respect the Contact Group will be of good help and also an instrument to promote this process,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

“We expect that [President Petro] Poroshenko and his team, as well as militias, will be committed to the Minsk agreements”, he said.

No decision has been made so far on sending a humanitarian convoy to the southeast of Ukraine in the coming days, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich told a briefing on Thursday.

“The decision on sending the convoy in the coming days has not been made,” the diplomat said. He added that in accordance with the August 26 agreements, Russia had previously announced the intention to send, in co-operation with the Ukrainian side and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), another humanitarian convoy to the southeast of Ukraine.
