Wine and strong alcohol is used far less often: no more than a couple of times in several months - 32% and 25% respectively
MOSCOW, September 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Beer is Russians’ most favoured alcoholic beverage, as follows from a survey held by the national pollster WCIOM on August 23-24.
10% of the questioned said they use beer every week and 21% treat themselves to “a can or two” every month.
Wine and strong alcohol is used far less often: no more than a couple of times in several months - 32% and 25% respectively. The least often ordered drinks are alcoholic cocktails: 87% said they never have them.
The opinion poll confirmed that men take alcohol more often than women. 19% percent use beer every week, in contrast to 3% of women.
As far as the preferable bottle size is concerned, the most often bought amount is half a litre for those who use beer (42% of the polled) and strong alcohol (40%).
WCIOM questioned 1,600 men and women of age in 42 constituent territories of Russia. The error margin did not exceed 3.4%
