MOSCOW, September 09. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian division of US fast food chain McDonald's has removed salads from its menu because of a ban on imports of agricultural products from some countries, a spokeswoman Oksana Belaichuk said on Tuesday.
“The quality of products used in salads does not meet the requirements which used to satisfy us and our suppliers and we decided to remove salads from the menu until we find an alternative,” Belaichuk said.
Russian consumer right protection watchdog earlier closed several McDonald's restaurants across the country after detecting intestinal bacteria in salad leafs. According to Belaichuk, McDonald's decision to stop selling salads was not connected with the authority’s claims.
