MOSCOW, September 08. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian communications watchdog has added Internet social resources Mail.ru, Yandex and Rambler to the register of information distribution organizers, Maxim Ksenzov, deputy director of the Federal Service for Communications, IT and Mass Communication Oversight, said late on September 5 in his Twitter microblog.

“I want to make the issue clear. The information distribution register under the law (on information) included Russia’s largest social resources: VKontakte, Yandex, Mail.ru and Rambler. The register will also comprise foreign platforms with no exceptions,” Ksenzov said.

Earlier, the service’s press secretary Vadim Ampelonsky said that social network VKontakte had been added to the register.

The register was created under a law on popular bloggers, which came into effect in August.

The law introduces the term “blogger” as an owner of a Web site with attendance exceeding 3,000 users a day. The law also authorized the service to overview registering bloggers. Popular bloggers must disclose their second name and initials, as well as their e-mails.
