Putin's electoral rating reaches record 71% — pollster
Some 82% of Russians said they were satisfied with Putin's work
MOSCOW, August 29. /ITAR-TASS/. The electoral rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin has reached a record 71%, the Public Opinion Foundation pollster said on Friday.
Some 71% of Russians said they would vote for Putin if presidential elections were to be held on the nearest weekend, the pollster said, adding that 68% of the respondents to a similar poll were ready to vote for Putin in July.
Only six percent of the responsents said they would vote for Liberal Democratic Party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and four percent said they would support Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov.
Some 82% of Russians said they were satisfied with Putin's work, the pollster said.
The survey was conducted on August 23-24 and involved 3,000 respondents from 64 Russian regions.
