Russia can offer plan of agreement on association of Ukraine with the EU on September 12

MINSK, August 27, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia expects to come forward with concrete proposals about a possible adjustment of the basic agreement on Ukraine's association with the European Union and of the supplement to it by the ministerial meeting on September 12, Russin Minister of Economic Development Aleksey Ulyukayev told journalists.
"This refers to specific amendments which we must introduce to the text of the supplement and, I do not rule it out, to the text of the basic agreement proper," Ulyukayev said, pointing out that he expects to make such proposals by the ministerial meeting which is due to be held in Brussels on September 12.
Andrey Belousov, Assistant to the Russian President, told journalists that he did not rule it out that expert consultations might lead to an adjustment of the text of the basic agreement on Ukraine's association with the European Union (EU) and of the supplement to it.
"Within a short period of time we shall examine those points of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement which give rise to concern and are fraught with risks to Russia. We shall seek to find some unravelments with regard to those points, right up to a possible introduction of alterations to the text of the Agreement or to its supplements," Belousov emphasized..
The Assistant to the President pointed out, "The Ukrainian side may agree to introduction of amendments to the text of the supplement at least". "This applies to duties and a timeframe such definite adjustments to it are possible," Belousov specified.
Russian Minister of Economic Development Aleksey Ulyukayev said the first expert consultations on the issue would be held in Moscow later this week.
