Around 30,000 Ukrainians granted temporary asylum in Russia
More than 60 thousand Ukrainians were granted temporary asylum and should pass a medical examination committee
MOSCOW, August 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Around 30 thousand Ukrainians were granted temporary asylum in Russia, the deputy chief of Russia’s migration watchdog said at a extraordinary meeting of the presidential human rights council in the Russian capital on Thursday.
“More than 70 thousand people asked for temporary asylum, 30 thousand people have already received it. Meanwhile, around eight thousand Ukrainians asked for refugee status and 76 people have received it so far,” Nikolai Smorodin said at the council’s meeting devoted to refugees from Ukraine.
More than 60 thousand Ukrainians were granted temporary asylum and should pass a medical examination committee and receive identity documents for an official legal status, chief of the department for citizenship affairs of Federal Migration Service Valentina Kazakova said earlier.
