MOSCOW, August 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s decision to limit the import of certain foreign products is a forced response measure to ensure safety of the people and country, speaker of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin told reporters on Friday.

“The measures against the countries, who have supported the sanctions against Russia, are clearly forced response measures in order to ensure safety of our people and the country. This is not our choice, it is a forced measure,” he said. Naryshkin also expressed hope reasonable European politicians could recognise the absurdity and consequences from further “pressing the sanctions spiral.
