UST KAMENOGORSK, August 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday declined to comment on rumours that Moscow might close its airspace to foreign airlines.

“Responsible states must think about how such actions can affect consumers and their own companies,” the minister said.

“Everyone knows how actively airlines of different countries use Russia’s airspace, including European, American and Asian ones. I do not advocate prohibitions that create real problems for passengers and ordinary people who have no relation to what those who unleashed the war in Ukraine are doing there now,” the minister said.

“I will not comment on rumours, but I think that responsible states must think, as the president of Russia said yesterday, about how this will affect consumers and Russian companies. Therefore we believe that our Western partners should think about their companies and citizens,” Lavrov said.
