ROSTOV ON DON, August 06. /ITAR-TASS/. The number of Ukrainian refugees in a tent camp near Donetsk, a city in Russia’s southern Rostov region, has exceeded 1,500 people, the spokesperson for the regional government, Alexander Titov, said on Wednesday.
The camp can accommodate 1,000 people, he said.
Most migrants are entering Russia at the Donetsk crossing point as other checkpoints work intermittently or do not operate at all, Titov said.
A total of 49,114 refugees, over 15,400 children among them, are currently staying in the region, he added.
