MOSCOW, August 04. /ITAR-TASS/. A Russian and Belarusian group of inspectors will make an observation flight aboard a Russian An-30b plane fitted out with digital observation equipment over the territory of Poland in implementation of the international Treaty on Open Skies (TOS), Sergey Ryzhkov, head of the national Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, told Itar-Tass.

"The observation flight will be made within a period from August 4 to 8 from the Warsaw Open Skies airfield to a maximum range of up to 1,400 km," he said.

The Russian plane will fly along an agreed route fixed with the side subject to observation while Polish specialists on board will monitor the procedure for the use of observation equipment and compliance with the provisions set out in the Treaty, Ryzhkov specified.

The flight is made for the purpose of promoting greater openness and transparency in the military activities of states that are Parties to the Treaty, and enhancing security through strengthening confidence-building measures, he pointed out.
