MOSCOW, July 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's Interior Ministry is planning to send a group of its staff members for work at the Secretariats of the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Izvestia reports that the Ministry has worked out a draft presidential decree allowing the Ministry to set up such a mission.

The document has been drawn up with a view to developing the Ministry's interaction with the UN and the OSCE, the newspaper points out. Experts believe that in this way Russia will get more opportunities for assistance to the international community in settling the conflict in Ukraine.

A source in the group of drafters of the bill told Izvestia, "Russia's Interior Ministry currently lacks legal grounds to send staff members for work in the subdivisions of the UN and OSCE Secretariats".

If such a presidential decree is adopted, Russian policemen at international organizations will be able to take part in working out and conduct of various operation that involve the interests of Russia, and to tackle respective matters assisting in investigation, search for and gathering of evidence.

"This draft decree will enable a larger number of (Ministry) staff members to participate in the work of the UN and the OSCE and to fill vacancies in police managerial positions. This will contribute to enhancing the Russian Federation's prestige in the international arena," an official at the Interior Ministry's press center emphasized.
