KIEV, July 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has expelled journalist of Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 Yevgeny Agarkov who had covered the trial against a suspect in the murder of Russian journalists without a work permit in Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

“Agarkov has already come back to Ukraine. He returned to the homeland from Russia successfully through border-crossing point Goptovka in (east Ukraine) Kharkiv region,” the ministry said.

The journalist explained to Russia’s Federal Migration Service that Ukraine did not inform him that he should receive a work permit in Russia. On July 18, Voronezh central district court ruled to expel Agarkov. He did not want to appeal the court verdict. “He agreed on the court verdict and intends to pay a fine today,” chief of the regional centre for keeping foreign citizens Aleksey Moshnoy said on July 21. In his words, the court ruling will take effect in ten days after it was pronounced, after that bailiffs will process required documents, will buy a ticket to a foreigner and will bring him to the homeland.

In the city of Voronezh in the south of European part of Russia Agarkov has filmed TV reports illegally about the criminal case against Nadezhda Savchenko who is accused as a suspected accomplice in the murder of Russian central television and radio broadcaster VGTRK Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin. She is being kept at a Voronezh detention centre.
