MOSCOW, July 28. /ITAR-TASS/. The number of Ukrainian refugees has almost reached 33,000 at Russia’s temporary accommodation centers in the past 24 hours, Russian Emergencies Ministry spokesperson Alexander Drobyshevsky said on Monday.

“Two temporary accommodation centers have been additionally deployed. As of today over 32,900 people are staying there,” he said.

Most refugees arrive in Russia’s southern Rostov region and Crimea, from where the authorities transport some of them to other regions. They receive medical and psychological support.

Last week, deputy head of the Russian Federal Migration Service Sergei Kalyuzhny said 2.7 million Ukrainian citizens had come to Russia from the conflict-torn eastern regions.

4,000 Ukrainians have applied for refugee status and 27,500 people have asked for temporary shelter, he said.

Sixty Russian regions, primarily the Rostov region, accommodate Ukrainian refugees. They put up at their relatives and try to find job, Kalyuzhny said.

According to the Migration Service, the flow of migrants will increase.
