MOSCOW, July 26, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is planning to complete the infrastructure for French-made Mistral-class amphibious helicopters in the Far East in the autumn 2015, a senior Defence Ministry official said on Saturday.
“We’ve started the construction. I hope that the infrastructure will be ready next autumn,” said Roman Filipov, head of the ministry’s construction department.
“This is a global project,” he said.
The Mistral-class is capable of carrying 16 helicopters, four landing vessels, 70 armoured vehicles, and 450 personnel.
