Ukrainian military sent to Ukraine from Russia after treatment

ROSTOV-ON-DON, July 24. /ITAR-TASS/. A Ukrainian military-transport plane early on Thursday morning took on board 18 Ukrainian military servicemen who were undergoing medical treatment in Russia’s southern Rostov region. The plane set the course for Odessa. The military the transportation of which was allowed by the doctors were dispatched from the Rostov-on-Don airport. They were undergoing treatment at hospitals of the cities of Zverevo, Gukovo and Taganrog. The body of one serviceman who died was also dispatched with them.

All the wounded are fighters of the Ukrainian National Guard that on July 15 and 16 were coming out of encirclement in the Donetsk under white flags to face Russian border guards. The Russian side, based on the principles of humanity, provided all the needed urgent medical aid to them. Now they have been returned to the Ukrainian side: Russia acts strictly in accordance with the Minsk Convention on Legal Assistance of 01/22/1993 and the Russia-Ukraine Consular Convention of 01/15/1993.

A total of 22 Ukrainian encircled soldiers sought medical attention. Four gravely wounded and immobile military are temporary staying in Russia for treatment. They are undergoing treatment in one hospital with people’s militia fighters in Rostov-on-Don.
