Naval air force combat capabilities to be demonstrated at air show in Sevastopol

MOSCOW, July 21./ITAR-TASS/.Planes and helicopters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet will demonstrate their combat capabilities in Sevastopol on July 27 during an air show to mark Navy Day, a fleet spokesman, Vyacheslav Trukhachev, told ITAR-TASS on Monday.

Episodes will be shown not only as imitation with the use of fireworks, but also with weapons within safety possibilities in the Sevastopol Bay, the official said.

Eighteen ships and boats, 28 planes and helicopters, 10 support vessels and 19 vehicles of coastal troops will participate in the parade and the show.

Celebration events will begin with flag raising ceremonies aboard ships, and then, a parade of ships and the air show will take place in the bay.

Bora and Samum air-cushion vessels and Ka-27 and Mi-8 helicopters that will carry flags of Russia, the Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol, the Navy and the Air Force will open the show, when combat capabilities will be demonstrated in 19 episodes.

An exhibition of weapons and military equipment will open on Nakhimov Square, and some ships will be open for visitors.

The Navy Day celebration will end with an artillery salute and fireworks over the bay.
