ROSTOV-ON-DON, July 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Rescuers in the small hours on Friday evacuated 90 residents of two settlements of the Kuibyshev district of Russia’s Rostov region due to shelling from Ukraine, spokesman for the Rostov region’s emergencies department Vladimir Nakonechny told ITAR-TASS.

Residents of the farmsteads Primiussky (0.3 km from the border) and Zarechny (1.9 km from the border) were evacuated.

“The shelling set the local wheat fields on fire. Fire fighters were working there after the fire started. The shelling began again when they were working. So it was decided to evacuate both the fire fighters and residents. A total of 90 people, including 28 children, were evacuated,” Nakonechny said.

Almost all the evacuees were accommodated with their relatives and two people - at a temporary accommodation centre at the Kuibyshevo settlement’s night school, nobody was hurt.

In several hours, the residents returned to their homes.
