MOSCOW, July 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's President Vladimir Putin has been informed on the incident in Moscow's metro, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

"Of course, the president has been informed. The Moscow authorities informed him about the incident and the measures that are being taken," Peskov said on Tuesday.

Putin is in Fortaleza, Brazil, to take part in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit.

Moscow’s metro train made a hard brake stop as a result of loss of voltage in the conduct rail that caused derailment of three cars. The doors in one of the train cars were blocked. Rescuers have opened them. The hard braking of the train between the Park Pobedy and Slavyansky Bulvar stations was caused by power outage and false alarm.

Several people were stuck for about an hour in an underground tunnel between metro stations Park Pobedy and Slavyansky Bulvar, as a metro train car filled with passengers derailed on Moscow’s Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya blue metro line

As of today 12 died and more than 120 people received injuries.

The criminal case has been launched.

Russia’s Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said a version of terrorist act was not being considered as a cause of the train crash in Moscow’s metro.
