MOSCOW, July 15. /ITAR-TASS/. The death toll in Moscow metro accident reaches 12 people, Russia's Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said.
“At 8:39 Moscow time Moscow’s metro train made a hard brake stop as a result of loss of voltage in the conduct rail that caused derailment of three cars. The hard braking of the train between the Park Pobedy and Slavyansky Bulvar stations was caused by power outage and false alarm. Three metro train cars derailed,” chief of the National Crisis Management Centre Viktor Yatsutsenko said on Tuesday.
“According to preliminary data, 161 people were injured. A total of 118 people were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, 12 people died,” he said.
