No meeting between Putin, Poroshenko planned
“The main task now is to focus on resuming the work of the contact group as soon as possible,” Russia's presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov added
BRASILIA, July 14. /ITAR-TASS/. No meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is being planned for the time being, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, July 14.
“It’s not on the agenda,” he said. “The main task now is to focus on resuming the work of the contact group as soon as possible.”
At the same time, Peskov could not say when the group could meet.
He declined to comment on media reports claiming that Russia may deliver surgical strikes on Ukraine but recalled that the Russian Foreign Ministry had made relevant statements after Ukrainian shells had landed and exploded on Russian territory.
“The Russian Federation’s attitude to these incidents was exhaustively stated in the Foreign Ministry’s statement,” he said.
