MOSCOW, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russia voices protest against Ukraine’s attack on a border squad, the Foreign Ministry says.
“On July 12, a Russian border squad was come under automatic small arms fire in the Rostov region’s Kuibyshev district, in Russia’s south. As a result of the attack a car was damaged. Eight bullet holes were found. Luckily, no Russian border guards were injured,” the ministry says.
“There is evidence that the car was come under fire from the Ukrainian territory and from the position on Russia’s territory that had been earlier prepared,” it says.
“Russia demands Ukraine stop shelling of the Russian territory and violating the Russian border,” the ministry says.
“If such provocations continue, Russia reserves the right to take measures under its legislation aimed at protecting the territory and ensuring security of Russian citizens,” it says.
