Russian government plans to shorten terms for granting temporary asylum
NOVO OGAREVO, July 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Federal Migration Service Director Konstantin Romodanovsky said that the government approved an ordinance to shorten a term for granting a temporary asylum status and it will come into effect in the coming days.
Speaking at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the cabinet members on Thursday, Romodanovsky also said that amendments were on the table that would permit to include people having obtained a temporary asylum in Russia on the list of those who could join the state program for compatriots’ resettlement that the government had launched five years ago.
The official specified that this step would help the refugees who were forced to flee Ukraine after the situation in that country had deteriorated critically.
