MINSK, July 10. /ITAR-TASS/. The volume of Russia’s military-technical co-operation with countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) has increased several times in recent years, deputy head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Co-operation (FSMTC) Konstantin Biryulin told ITAR-TASS in an interview at the Milex-2014 Arms and Military Equipment Exhibition that is underway in the Belarusian capital.

“Speaking about military-technical co-operation, in recent years the volume of supply of military products to the CSTO countries has considerably grown,” he said. “I cannot exactly say whether it has increased four - five or 10 times, but considerably more than two times. The supplies of not only final samples, but also of component parts that are used in production have increased.”

“It especially concerns Belarus and Kazakhstan. The Kazakh side now buys much equipment from us,” the FSMTC deputy head added.

“It should be taken into account that equipment in the CSTO must be replaceable or made according to uniform standards. It should have the single logistics support system in order to ensure its use in any territorial spots on the CSTO member states,” Biryulin stressed.
