The next session is due on October 1, Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said

MOSCOW, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. The Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament set an absolute record on Wednesday as to productive lawmaking - it took the legislators only five hours to consider 90 items on the agenda, as well as make decisions on almost 100 bills, before they went into summer recess until October 1.

As a result, more than 80 bills were approved, including those that the society had been discussing for months — return to the permanent winter time, beer advertising, bigger payments on comprehensive and collision insurance and bigger compensations to clients of bankrupt banks, an expansion of gambling zones and keeping of weapons.

The spring session has ended and the upper house has gone into recess. “The next session is due on October 1,” Speaker Valentina Matviyenko declared.
