Russia-China high-level meetings prove strategic partnership — Russian top official
BEIJING, July 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s top official said the upcoming meetings between the Russian and Chinese leaders prove the positive development of strategic partnership.
The Russian and Chinese presidents, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, will have several bilateral meetings this year on the sidelines of major international events, Russian presidential chief of staff Sergei Ivanov said at a meeting with Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
The Russian and Chinese heads of state will soon meet in Brazil at the BRICS summit. “Till the yearend, they (Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping) are planning to meet within the summits of APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) and the G20,” Ivanov said.
“The intensive contacts prove that relations between Russia and China develop positively,” he said.
Russia’s top official has said the positions of Russia and China coincide on many international issues
“Today’s talk (with Chinese President Xi Jinping) proved clearly,” Sergei Ivanov said.
Xi Jinping said he intended to meet with the Russian president at a bilateral level and within the BRICS summit in Brazil.
