Russia hopes European colleagues push for ceasefire in Ukraine rather than compile new blacklists against Moscow

MARIBOR (Slovenia), July 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia speaks for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday after a meeting with Slovenian President Borut Pahor and Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec on Tuesday.

“We need to throw aside everything to immediately stop the use of force,” Lavrov emphasized. “We are convinced Slovenia understands our position and the fact that ceasefire is a priority task.

Russia hopes European colleagues push for ceasefire in Ukraine rather than compile new blacklists against Moscow, Lavrov noted. 

Earlier, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has approved the plan of a special raid in Donetsk and Luhansk.

According to Mykhailo Koval, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,  “the president has approved the detailed plan, which completely envisages all the stages of liberating our and from these people, who are destabilizing the situation there”.

The Security Council’s representative noted that amid the resuming of the active phase of the military operation in the east “in fact, the entire border (with Russia) was blocked from possibilities to bring heavy armory to the territory of Ukraine from abroad”.
