MOSCOW, July 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry will insist on terminating the punitive operation in Ukraine’s southeast and starting a dialogue, Russia’s human rights commissioner has said.

“The events in the southeast of Ukraine are the severest crisis. Despite all efforts, primarily from Russia, the Ukrainian authorities continue the punitive operation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Supremacy of Law, Konstantin Dolgov said at the Public Chamber on Monday.

“According to reports, the attacks continue on the areas that militia left,” he said.

“This proves that the punitive operation is an attempt to put pressure on the Ukrainian population who disagrees with the Kiev authorities’ view,” Dolgov said.

“We express deepest concern over the victims among peaceful civilians and continued shelling of the south-eastern regions,” he said.
